At the Fireplace Installers we take gas safety seriously. All of our gas work is carried out by Corgi Registered installers who have the relevant qualifications to install gas fires. All of our gas fitters carry their Corgi ID card at all times. As with any gas fitter you have working in your home you should ask to see their ID card before you let them in. If you are ever in any doubt about the legitimacy of a gas fitter you should check the Corgi Website.

Modern gas appliances are very safe however it is important that they are installed correctly and serviced annually. With gas fires it is important that the chimney is swept on a regular basis and smoke tested to ensure that all products of combustion are leaving the property.

As part of the Corgi campaign to raise Carbon Monoxide Awareness we strongly recommend that you have an Audible Carbon Monoxide Detector (ACMD) in every room that contains a gas appliance. All of our installers carry ACMD's that are available to our clients at cost price. These are also available from DIY stores and other outlets.

Please do not purchase the 'Orange Dot' type which are about as useful as a Silent Fire Alarm!
